KING KHAN
Entertainment News: Shah Rukh Khan’s Meer Foundation, known for its work with acid attack survivors, has taken up the cause of Punjab’s flood victims. The foundation will provide beds, mattresses, stoves, fans, clean water machines, and clothes to 500 struggling families in villages. The goal of Meer Foundation is to help affected households become self-reliant. Instead of short-term relief, the team is supplying essential household items to restore normalcy. For many families who lost everything in the floods, this support is a lifeline of hope.
Local NGO Voice of Amritsar (VOA) has been at the forefront of the relief drive. In collaboration with AIIMS doctors, they organized medical camps in several villages. Thousands of villagers received free checkups, treatment, and medicines when they needed it most. Akshay Kumar donated ₹5 crore to the relief fund, calling it a service to Punjab. Salman Khan’s Being Human foundation sent five rescue boats, promising to adopt affected villages. Sonu Sood reached out with medical vans and helplines to aid 2,000 villages.
Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh’s Sanjh Foundation adopted 10 villages in Amritsar and Gurdaspur, delivering food, water, oil, and medicines in the first phase. Punjabi actors like Karan Aujla, Gippy Grewal, Ammy Virk, and Jasbir Jassi also provided rations, fodder, shelter, and reconstruction. Their teams were seen working directly with villagers in makeshift relief camps. Many of them even visited flood-hit families personally to offer comfort. Social media posts of these stars boosted awareness and encouraged more donations. Their influence helped speed up aid distribution and inspired youth groups to join hands.
These combined initiatives show a rare unity between Bollywood, Punjabi artists, and NGOs. Each effort, small or large, adds strength to Punjab’s recovery. For flood-hit families, this wave of support is turning despair into resilience and sorrow into determination. It is also setting an example of how celebrities can use their fame for social good. Villagers have openly expressed gratitude, saying such support gives them courage to rebuild. The presence of known faces has also created hope among children. Together, these efforts are not just rebuilding homes, but also restoring faith in humanity.
